Information

The North England University Archery League currently comprises 18 clubs spread across the counties of Cheshire, Cumbria, Durham, Lancashire, Northumberland, and Yorkshire.

Over the course of the year we offer our clubs the chance to participate in 4 championship tournaments – NUTC, Novice Champs, Indoors, and Outdoors as well as our league matches. Our clubs also compete at BUCS Indoors and Outdoors as well as BUTC.

If you wish to join our league or you are an archer at a club in any of these counties and want to know if you are eligible to shoot with us don’t hesitate to contact the committee (information found on the contacts page).

As well as offering tournaments and league matches, NEUAL also offer score badges for both indoor and outdoor shooting.

Indoors

To qualify for any of our indoors scoring badges you must have shot a Portsmouth round and achieve a certain score.

Our badges are split into two styles, those for scores below 500 and those above.

Below 500 the badges come in 6 different colours, each representing a score level:

White – 300 Black – 350 Blue – 400 Red – 425 Orange – 450 Purple – 475

Above 500, the badges show the score achieved with 4 different values (500, 525, 550, and 575) available.

Outdoors

Our outdoor badges are based on an archer achieving a score of 216 or above over 3 dozen arrows at a set distance. All these distances are shot on the 122cm face and can be done in either yards or metres.

White – 30yds/m Black – 40yds/m Blue – 50yds/m Red – 60yds/m Orange – 70m/80yrds Purple – 90m/100yrds

Please note that the purple badge is made available to ladies for achieving the score of 250 at 70m/80yrds in recognition that they do not normally shoot 90m/100yrds in competition, however any archer achieving a score of 216 at 90m/100yrds will qualify for the purple badge.

If you or your club is interested in purchasing these badges contact the NEUAL President (see contacts page) for more details.
